Travis Canby

Travis Canby is a licensed California & Tennessee Realtor and the co-founder of The Canby Group (CG), a real estate group in partnership with AKG | Christie's International Real Estate and Onward. A man of faith, Travis is deeply devoted to his wife and business partner, Judith Canby, their young son Crosby, and their two beloved rescue dogs, Charlie and Anonymous. Fueled by an innate drive for excellence, Travis rose to the top 0.83% of basketball players worldwide, earning an NCAA Division I scholarship to Kansas State University. After graduating, he played professionally in Germany, winning a championship while embracing European culture. When his athletic journey concluded, Travis returned to Atlanta to embark on a highly successful medical device sales career. Determined to carve his own path, he moved to San Diego in 2010 and boldly secured a sales position with Stryker Medical by camping out in their lobby for six hours until someone agreed to interview him. His tenacity paid off, and he thrived, negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts, and earning the trust of leading surgeons with his poise and problem-solving skills under high-pressure, life-or-death scenarios. In 2015, he traded his scrubs for a real estate license and hit the ground running. His Southern charm and proactive approach landed him four listings in his first week, culminating in 18 sales that year and earning him a spot in the top 1% of newcomer agents. Over the years, Travis shattered sales records across Southern California, from the Hollywood Hills to Rancho Palos Verdes, before founding the Canby Group. CG quickly rose to prominence, ranking among Beverly Hills' top 10 teams, with Travis and Judith placing 9th in closed volume out of 453 agents. In 2020, the Aaron Kirman Group, Los Angeles' #1 real estate team, invited CG to join their ranks. Since the collaboration Travis has continued to set records throughout California while taking his tried-and-true techniques into the Nashville market, joining forces with Onward Real Estate.
